NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL PARK

Right beside the Purana Qila along its south-west wall is the Delhi Zoo, the largest and the finest zoo in Asia. Established in 1959 over an area of 214 acres, the zoo houses a wide array of wildlife in near-natural surroundings, including several rare white tigers from Rewa, Assamese one-horned rhinoceroses, Asiatic lions from Gujarat, Himalayan bears, elephants, deer and monkeys. The zoo has a man-made lake which invites a large number of migratory birds during Autumn.

Timings : Summer - 8 AM to 6 PM Winter - 9 AM to 5 PM. Closed on Fridays
